Gefallen: The grounds and the views were spectacular .

Nicht gefallen: The swimming was out of order for four days , the arcade was dirty with old equipment ( glasses and food wrappers left from Sunday evening ) . We went on the Wednesday just after it opened . No one ever at the bar . Our room was not ready on arrival even though it was a late 5 pm check in . In need of a refurbishment in certain areas , however our lodge was very comfortable / clean and the staff were lovely

Nicht gefallen: The staff at Mc Donald Forest Hill were not welcoming at the reception desk. The staff at the Garden Restaurant had no customer service skills and were not friendly. The main restaurant was empty when we wanted to have lunch at 12 pm.however we were told it’s ‘all booked”.we had to have lunch in the lobby lounge. The pool table was very poor quality and the swimming pool was not working the length of our stay.

Nicht gefallen: Das Schwimmbad war fast eine Woche lang außer Betrieb. Super enttäuschend. Das Essen war hervorragend, aber die Abendessen waren sehr teuer.

Gefallen: Die Lage direkt am See ist die größte Stärke des Resorts: ruhig und malerisch, mit Wasser und Wald direkt vor der Tür. Die Wohnung war zudem wirklich geräumig und bot genug Platz, damit eine Familie sich über mehrere Nächte ausbreiten konnte.

Nicht gefallen: Die Betten waren die größte Enttäuschung: Die Matratzen sind alt und abgenutzt, man spürt die Federn durch sie hindurch, deshalb haben wir schlecht geschlafen. Wir haben in der Wohnung auch viele Spinnen und andere Insekten gefunden. Und die Fotos in der Anzeige entsprechen nicht dem, was man tatsächlich erhält. Insbesondere die Aussicht entsprach nicht der Beschreibung, was enttäuschend war, da sie einer der Gründe für unsere Buchung war.

Gefallen: Was für eine friedliche Aussicht! Die Wohnung ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht, und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich.

Nicht gefallen: Mir gefiel es nicht, wenn es Zeit war, nach Hause zu gehen.

Gefallen: The location and main hotel were very nice. And the staff were absolutely lovely in the main hotel and restaurant. The food in the restaurant was pretty good. All a bit more expensive than it should have been.

Nicht gefallen: We stayed in one of the self-catering apartments. The images on line show a stunning view from the balcony. I think because of the woodland only the apartments adjacent to the hotel would have that view. The apartment was large and well stocked. The space really generous. But it had really, really tired decor and quite a lot of dirty or tatty seating. The entrance to the apartment felt like an uncared for tenement block with tiles missing from the stairs which were untidy and probably a dangerous trip hazard. We had an enjoyable stay because we were away together as a family, but I wouldn’t stay in a the lodge again. Way too steeply priced for a dated, shabby 3 star apartment. Perhaps the hotel rooms are nicer. The staff were very good. They also have a mouse problem which isn’t ideal at dinner.
